On arrival you are greeted by friendly, shady trees forming a tranquil hide-away and an excellent base from which to explore the unspoilt African wildlife destinations of the Elephant Coast Tourism Region, including the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Park and the Greater Isimangaliso (St Lucia) Wetlands Park (World Heritage Site)
The camp abounds with resident birdlife, as well as other small animals such as duiker antelope, mongoose and tortoises making their appearance throughout the day.

Our BIG FIVE EXPERIENCE Package includes one complimentary ice cold beer or cold drink at the bar. Enjoy your drink before home-cooked dinner is served with vegetables and salads. Early rise the next day to experience a full day safari in the Hluhluwe park in an open-vehicle with a light breakfast and freshly prepared hamburger lunch at a picnic site in the park. (05h30 - 17h00) Cold drinks included while on safari. Put your feet up after dinner, next to our cosy fire in our boma. Breakfast to be enjoyed at leisure next to the pool. General information about us:
The word "ISINKWE" (pronounced "I" - "sink" - "we"), is the Zulu translation of the Thick Tailed Bushbaby. These strange nocturnal animals are classified under the primate family and frequent the lodge at night. Their distinctive and thrilling night-time cries are part of the evening bush sounds. Keep a look out for them in the evenings during your stay.
Isinkwe Backpackers Bushcamp and Isinkwe Safaris were founded in 1995 by the Davies family and have since developed into a quality 55 bed backpackers lodge and an eight vehicle tour company. The dedication and attention to detail of the family and staff members are aimed at making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Since its inception Isinkwe has successfully maintained sustainable job opportunities for more than 15 persons from the local neighbouring communities, at any time. We are proud to say that our venture has been progressively developed by all persons involved over the past years. We also strive to ensure that we operate our tourism business in an enviromentally friendly manner and hope to see the long term preservation of all wildlife ecosystems within our region.
